This Privacy Notice explains how Nariman Abu Baker (trading as "Luma", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use Luma. Nariman Abu Baker is the data controller for the personal data described here. Paid subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store; Apple is a separate data controller for payment-related data under Apple's own privacy policy.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — email address, display name, avatar, and login credentials (via Google sign-in or email/password).
- Profile & preferences — language, response style, voice preference, and any personalization you enter.
- Content — your chat messages, saved memories, and files or images you upload.
- Usage & telemetry — feature usage counts (e.g. voice minutes, images generated), quotas, and error diagnostics.
- Device & technical data — device type, operating system, browser/app version, IP address, and similar identifiers, collected automatically when you use the Service.
- Support messages — anything you send us when you contact support.
2. How we use your data
- Create and operate your account, and provide the chat, voice, and image features (contract performance).
- Generate AI responses by sending your prompts to trusted AI model providers (contract performance).
- Enforce quotas, protect against fraud and abuse, and keep the Service secure (legitimate interests and legal obligation).
- Improve reliability and product quality, including diagnosing errors (legitimate interests).
- Respond to support requests and communicate service-related notices (contract performance).
- Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
Your prompts and messages are not used to train AI models. Temporary chats are not saved to your account.
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors — cloud hosting, database, authentication, storage, analytics, and error reporting tools that help us run the Service.
- AI model providers — your prompts (and attachments where relevant) are sent to trusted AI providers to generate responses.
- Apple — for subscriptions purchased through the App Store on iOS.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting, and tax advisers where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries outside your own, including outside the UK/EEA. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions to protect your data.
5. How long we keep data
We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR and UK GDPR where they apply), you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and isolated per-user storage for uploaded files. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use only essential cookies and local storage required to sign you in, keep you signed in, and remember your preferences (such as theme and language). We do not use advertising cookies.
9. Changes to this Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date below and, where appropriate, by an in-product notice.
